Dubai, UAE, November 2, 2020 - Ingram Micro, the global technology and supply chain services provider, today announced a new business alliance with The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource.
As an Official Training Partner (OTP) of the IAPP, Ingram Micro now provides authorized training of Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) certifications.
In today’s hyper-connected world, privacy is extremely important. While the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) set the tone for privacy around the world, today, more than 80 countries world-wide have implemented laws to protect the privacy of their citizens and residents.
Ingram Micro will bring key privacy training courses to professionals across the Middle East through this alliance. Ingram Micro Cyber Security META, headquartered in Dubai, has a dedicated team of credentialed Cyber Security and Privacy trainers with in-depth expertise in handling the Cyber Security and Privacy challenges that organizations need to address. The team has trained more than 3000 professionals on various Cyber Security and Privacy topics.
The CIPP, CIPM and CIPT are the leading privacy certifications for thousands of professionals worldwide who serve the data protection, information auditing, information security, legal compliance, and/or risk management needs of their organizations. CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPP/US and CIPT credentials are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 17024: 2012.
“There is an increasing demand for trained privacy professionals across the globe, and with our OTP program, we’re able to offer gold-standard training and certification around the world to meet those demands,” said J. Trevor Hughes, IAPP President and CEO. “With Ingram Micro now offering CIPP/E, CIPM and CIPT across the Middle East, we’re expanding the reach of our programs to deliver top-tier training and credentials across legal, tech, policy sectors, and more”.
Speaking about the agreement, Dr. Ali Baghdadi, Senior VP & Chief Executive, Ingram Micro META Region, said, “Ingram Micro’s Advanced Cyber Security and Privacy solutions enable our business partners to offer holistic solutions to their end-customers. With the addition of the Official Training and certifications from IAPP, Ingram Micro reaffirms our commitment to upskilling and preparing organizations to take on the challenges of the hyper-connected era.”
Marc Kassis, Director, Ingram Micro Cyber Security META, said, “We believe in the need for a holistic approach to tackling Cyber Security and Privacy – one that addresses people, processes and technologies. Becoming an Official Training Partner of IAPP, we are well equipped to offer value-driven solutions and training around GDPR, Privacy Management, and Privacy Related Technologies. We are excited about the road ahead.”
The cost of each training includes an IAPP membership offering access to an expansive professional community, plus a wealth of privacy information and resources, including exclusive content and tools, expert analysis, legislative alerts and original reporting.
