Ingram Micro Honored for Virtual Lab Development at CISO 50 Awards

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – April 29, 2019: Ingram Micro, one of the largest technology distributors in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region, was honored at the CPI Media’s CISO 50 Awards, which took place March 27, 2019 in Dubai. The program recognizes the top 50 CISOs deploying technology in innovative ways to secure critical business information assets, ensure data protection and minimize risk while delivering business value, all in an effort to enhance the customer experience.

Mamdouh Al-Gendy, Senior Solution Architect at Ingram Micro Cyber Security received an award for developing the Ingram Micro Virtual Lab for Security Solutions. The Ingram Micro Virtual Lab is cloud-based, ensuring anytime and anywhere availability. The lab was designed to facilitate a seamless experience for both valued end-customers as well as Ingram Micro pre-sales engineers during the delivery of a Proof of Concept (POC) exercise. It contains over 20 Cyber Security vendors and acts as its own data center.

Dr. Arijana Trkulja, Head of Cyber Security Consulting Services at Ingram Micro delivered a keynote address at the event. Further,As a part of the keynote, Ingram Micro presented an enhanced approach to cyber defense founded on the principles of proactive and offensive security. The approach consists of tracking cyber gangs and infiltrating their circles to understand and subjugate their intentions before any cyber-attack scenario is even developed, known as Managed Defense and Response (MDR). Dr. Trkulja stressed the need for a progressive emphasis across organizations’ security strategies towards the proactive and offensive approach.
